I am Scott Miles, and I started Tattoo Aurea because tattoo planning should feel calm, not chaotic. I focus on placement, skin behavior, and how different styles age so you can choose a design that fits your body today and still looks right later. My approach is practical and personal: I break down options by where the tattoo will live, how the lines will read, and what aftercare needs to look like for your day-to-day. If you are weighing size, style, or meaning, I will help you get specific before you commit.

My story

My first real tattoo idea came from a sketch I couldn’t stop thinking about, and I kept circling the same questions about size, placement, and how it would age. I went back and forth for weeks, then sat in the chair and realized how much the artist’s process mattered. After that, I started collecting references, asking friends what they wish they’d known, and tracking what I liked after healing.

Tattoo Aurea started as a private list, then became my way of sharing the notes that saved me time, money, and second-guessing. I write alone, so every post is something I’d want to read before I walked into a studio.

What I cover

On Tattoo Aurea, I share tattoo design ideas, placement thoughts, and practical aftercare guidance based on my own sessions and what I’ve learned from watching how artists work. I also dig into style details like line weight, contrast, and how different inks look once the initial redness fades. I’m careful with recommendations because I’m not trying to sell you anything, and I only write about what I can explain from real experience.
